Since Autumn 2016, the Chicago Youth Philanthropy Group has combined forces with ALLOW GOOD to launch the UChicago Chapter of Allow Good. For more information about us, please visit UChicago@Allow Good.
The Chicago Youth Philanthropy Group is a University of Chicago Student Organization.
Our Mission: The Chicago Youth Philanthropy Group is a student-run nonprofit that empowers Chicago’s youth to become student leaders and improve their communities by replicating the foundation process in a year-long academic program.
Our Process: Our RSO teaches classes in Chicago high schools that explain philanthropy and lead students through the philanthropic process. We teach students fundraising skills, leadership, and help them to investigate the causes of and solutions to economic and social problems on the South Side.
Our Goals: We hope that the ultimate effect of our efforts is a better Chicago. We seek to provide leadership opportunities to Chicago high school students who would otherwise lack them. We seek to bring new experiences in fundraising and collaboration to these students. We seek to connect UChicago more extensively to its natural neighborhood, and to improve the University’s relationship with the vibrant community around it.
